Our History

Tomaro’s C.H.A.N.G.E., established in October 2009, has a long-standing commitment to serving underserved communities across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, St. Maarten, and Cameroon. Our organization was founded on the principle of meeting the diverse needs of low-income families and individuals who often face barriers to accessing essential resources. Over the years, we have supported homeless teen parents, conducted fundraisers to provide necessities like food, clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies, and assisted families in crisis by funding critical needs such as transportation for a child undergoing cancer treatment. Additionally, we have supplied parents with baby formula, diapers, and clothing, donated books to children’s hospitals, and collaborated with other nonprofits to extend our reach to those in need.

Today, Tomaro’s C.H.A.N.G.E. is dedicated to providing comprehensive behavioral and mental health support services to children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout Delaware, with a special focus on the underserved, uninsured, and underinsured populations. Our programs are designed to address the unique challenges faced by low-income families and those who often slip through the cracks of the healthcare system.

Our services include individual, family, and group therapy, positive peer intervention, group support, coping and management skills training, mindfulness education, mentorship, and physical wellness initiatives. In response to the growing demand for specialized support, we also cater to autistic youth, offering tailored services that address their unique needs and support their families. We emphasize accessibility and flexibility, offering services in our office, within schools, and throughout the community to ensure we meet families where they are. Recognizing the financial constraints that many of our clients face, we assist with out-of-pocket fees and offer sliding scale options for those who qualify, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent individuals from receiving the care they need.

Our Purpose

Aligning with our mission, our purpose is to empower individuals and families by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Our Vision

To create a holistic, accessible, and supportive environment where every child, adolescent, and family has access to comprehensive behavioral and mental health services, fostering resilience, health, and well-being for a brighter future.

Our Goal

Our goal is to be a positive force in the lives of those who lack access to essential services and resources, empowering and strengthening individuals and families. Tomaro's C.H.A.N.G.E. strives to be a vital presence in communities by Creating Healing, Answers, and Necessary Guidance for Excellence.
